Actress Diana Penty who has been known for her developing performances in films like Cocktail and Happy Bhag Jayegi, she now will be playing a strong role in Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film ‘Lucknow Central’. She recently expressed about how she least bothered about the time of her character playing out on screen rather than its impact or strength.Diana, a model-turn-actress has made her debut in Bollywood with film ‘Cocktail’ where she shared the screen with Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. She turn to be a great actress and establishing herself in industry with her more promising works and surely busting the myth that models could n’t be good actress in Bollywood. She spoke about her character to IANS when she asked about her preference of the character’s on-screen length in the film “No, if the role is powerful, screen timing doesn’t bother me… that becomes secondary then.
I always think about the impact of the character in the film, after liking the story. For instance, in ‘Lucknow Central’, I am playing a strong headed woman in the men’s world.”She further explains about her character in depth “My character Gayetri Kashyap works for an NGO who helps prisoners to reintegrate into society and coming back to normal life once they come out of jail. The character is interesting because she is the woman working inside the prison; which is a male dominated work space. So she is confident, strong headed and stubborn at times.”She also commented on the myth of ‘model cannot be good actress’ with context “I think this thought of models can’t act is such a cliche! Many of our top heroines like Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma were models before entering Bollywood. And they are wonderful actresses.
